Hair & Make Up
- Hair and makeup is not included in the session fee.
- Men … most can get by without makeup We do however recommend men use a powder or foundation to help even out skin tones, and to keep the shine down. You can pick up a powder in your color at any department store. It is recommended to go to a beauty supply store or place with a make up counter (such as MAC) where you can get professional help picking the right color.
- Women … we always recommend professional makeup. You can bring your own makeup artist to the shoot, or we can schedule a great professional makeup artist for an additional fee. This fee is payable directly to the makeup artist on the day of the shoot.
- Men shave before your appointments if you are looking for a smooth look, and females be sure to remove any unwanted hair.
- The youngest model may have “bags” under the eyes – it is not necessarily a sign of age or of a dissipated life! The color of the skin under the eyes is often darker and may have greenish, bluish or purplish tone compared to the tops of the cheeks. A liquid concealer will cover this up. Take care to get the concealer completely under the lower eyelashes.
- Make sure your hair looks good. There are no tricks to cut, trim, or color your hair after we shoot.
- Bring your own hairstyling proucts.
- If you do not hire a make up artist come with your make up ready.Clothing
- Anything in your portrait which distracts the viewers eye from you is not recommended.
- Solid colors work better than patterns.
- White and black can be worked with, but are not the best.
- Sleeveless and strapless looks do not usually work for close-ups.
- Layers work well!
- Bring serveral options for clothing. We cannot offer a reshoot because you end up not liking the outfits.
- Keep earings and jewelry simple.
